From the 30th to the 31st of May, SINLOC - Sistema Iniziative Locali, project coordinator of NESOI – The European Islands Facility, with our Beneficiaries from Sicily, is attending the sixth edition of the Green Salina Energy Days event, presenting the latest updates on our incredible initiatives. The event is taking place on the island of Salina (Aeolian Archipelago - Sicily), one of the islands at the heart of our project.
The Green Salina Energy Days event is a two-day event, organized by the Sustainable Islands Association and promoted by ENEA, the Sicilian Region, and ENEL, with the support of the municipalities of Leni, Malfa, and Santa Marina Salina, Marevivo Onlus, the Messina Foundation, the Territorial Assembly of Messina, the Caronte/Siremar and Covenant of Mayors, and NESOI – The European Islands Facility. This year’s edition presents an interesting novelty: the first edition of Blue Island Day, in collaboration with the European Commission.
The event will start on Tuesday, 30 May with the conference Supporting the energy transition of Small Islands and will continue on Wednesday 31 May with the meeting Energy Transition: renewable sources and Innovation, with afocus on geothermal energy, and case studies relating to the decarbonisation of the EU islands. On Thursday, June 1st, Blue Island Day will be promoted in collaboration with the European Commission and will focus on restoration projects of the marine ecosystem of the island and the actions of the Energy Transition of Salina.
