Boosting Energy Sustainability in Transport for Catania (BEST-CT) is a project supported by NESOI European Islands Facility, managed by our partners from SINLOC, and promoted by AMTS CATANIA.

The project consists of several actions aiming at increasing the energy performance in operating urban bus transport in the city of Catania. The renovation of the main bus depot will include rooftop PV, PV shelters for buses and service cars, empowering electrical cabins and stations and re-lamping. The bus fleet will be enhanced with electric engine and batteries, together with 23 slow charging stations (80 kW each) and 3 fast charging stations (250 kW each).
