NERIDA - Sustaining drinking water services and electromobility in insular areas by integrating grid-tied and autonomous PV power

COUNTRY: GREECE

ISLAND: TILOS

PROJECT PROMOTERS: TILOS MUNICIPALITY, UNIVERSITY OF WEST ATTICA (UNIWA)

SECTOR: PV

PROJECT VALUE: 500,000 €

WHAT IS THE PROJECT ABOUT?

  • The project consists in the installation of a grid tied 25 kWp PV system, as well as 2 standalone PV-Solar inverter configurations with nominal capacity of 7.5 kW and 2.5 kWp, in municipality-owned installation sites, capable to partially serve the needs of both EV charging station and existing water pumping stations.
  • Concurrently, the orchestration platform will be developed in UNIWA facilities, and shall be deployed on an existing computing server, on the island of Tilos. The platform will provide charging recommendations to drivers of municipal EV fleet and automatic operating instruction sets to water pumping stations, for offsetting between the produced water and water demand.
  • NERIDA will further advance the existing RES infrastructure on Tilos, by developing smallerscale, distributed generation solutions for the water and emobility sectors.

HOW WILL THE EU ISLANDS FACILICY NESOI SUPPORT THE PROJECT?
