WHAT IS THE PROJECT ABOUT?

  • POSIDON conceptualizes the energy relationship between industrial environments and neighbouring areas with the aim of establishing Local Energy Communities (LECs)..
  • The main objective is a near-to-zero load balancing among all its nodes, which is achieved through the deployment of renewable energy systems, the monitoring of generated and consumed energy, as well as the efficient and optimal sharing of energy among all the actors.
  • POSIDON aims to act as a catalyst to join the energy sector, ICT technologies and communities to achieve a significant environmental and social impact..

HOW WILL THE EU ISLANDS FACILICY NESOI SUPPORT THE PROJECT?

  • Analysis of existing planning documentation, identification of the project boundaries
  • Analysis of the regulatory framework concerning the development of Energy Communities
  • Assessment of the key project sizing drivers
  • Identification of suitable technological options given existing project sizing requirements
  • Definition of the required environmental permitting procedures
  • Cost Benefit analysis and socio economic and environmental impact evaluation
  • Definition of the technical, economic and financial, fiscal project inputs
  • Risk analysis and identification of available mitigation strategies
  • Assessment of existing procurement options (e.g. tender, PPP, etc.)
  • Identification of financing/funding options
  • Action plan and identification of project monitoring procedures
