WHAT IS THE PROJECT ABOUT?
- The project consists in developing high-level planning activities, including the writing of strategic and planning document SECAP for the island of Krk, which includes seven municipalities. Krk is the largest and most populated Adriatic island, with pronounced seasonality and pressure on the ecosystem.
- It is planned to establish a centre on the island that will provide information on renewables, energy efficiency, buildings, transport, water saving and drainage, and will serve as a national centre for energy transition.
- The project is linked to the "Zero Emission Development Strategy of Krk", which advocates integrated and sustainable development of the island that goes far beyond the energy context
HOW WILL THE EU ISLANDS FACILICY NESOI SUPPORT THE PROJECT?
- Socio-economic, territorial and environmental analysis
- Definition of the energy balance and preparation of the Baseline Emissions Inventory
- Analysis of the local RES potential and of local heating and cooling demand
- Climate change risk analysis and vulnerability assessment
- Analysis and mapping of regional, national and European planning framework
- Support in participatory processes
- Support in the drafting of the SECAP
- Identification of measures to reach the defined objectives
- Action plan and monitoring system, allocation of responsibilities for its implementation
- Mapping of the main financial instruments available to finance the identified actions
